Waikato Cup campaign begins

Waikato Cup campaign begins

Cambridge teams will begin their campaign to win the Soccer Shop Waikato Cup on April 29 with first round games against Claudelands Rovers.

The Harry Bomans-coached D1 team will travel to Galloway Park to play Rovers’ C2 team while Chris Hill and the D2 squad have drawn a home time against Rovers’ D2.

Our Waikato A and B teams are not required to play in round one of the cup and will be drawn into the competition for its later stages.

Last year, Northern United won the cup in a thrilling final at John Kerkhof Park, beating Te Awamutu.
Meanwhile, fixtures in the Waikato A and B divisions have been rescheduled for April 29 as the cup round enables round 18 matches to be brought forward.

The full schedule of April 29 fixtures for our senior men’s teams is:

Soccer Shop Waikato Cup games
D1 v Claudelands Rovers C2 (away)
D2 v Claudelands Rovers D2 (home) – 12.30pm at John Kerkhof Park
