Junior Player of the Week Award

Every Tuesday Cambridge FC awards a Junior Player of the Week Award - an award which gives us the chance to publicly recognise the efforts of our youngsters.

Our weekly winner is announced live on air on Waikato's 92 More FM's breakfast show every Tuesday between 7.30am and 8am.

Listen to KM, Stu and Toast (left) when they reveal which young Cambridge player is our weekly award winner. To nominate players, each team coach needs to text their side's nominated player each week when sending in their match results.

More FM has become a major sponsor of our club. To show your support for More FM, ask at the junior club for a More FM car sticker.

Each winner receives a gift voucher from:

50 Victoria St, Cambridge

Ph: 07 827 6455

Cambridge rep tournament a huge success

A major junior rep tournament held at our Vogel St grounds turned out to be a huge success, despite persistent rain - and the odd rainbow (left).

Almost 400 of the North Island's best age group players played at Cambridge on Sunday June 13 for a major rep tournament. Boys and girls who are the best in the 8-12 year old age groups competed in competitions.

Teams taking part were:

Waikato Reps - U8, U10, U11, U12 Boys and U12 Girls

Western BOP Reps - U8, U10, U11, U12 Boys and U12 Girls

Rotorua Reps - U10, U11, U12 Boys and U12 Girls

Thames Valley Reps - U11 Boys

US1 - U10, U11, U12 Boys and U12 Girls

The new Junior Building (above) is complete - we have plans and information now online - for you to see.

We need your help!

Each year the number of new player registrations increases, so a lot of pre-planning takes place over the summer to meet the expected demand. The large number of players (nearly 500 in 2009) is great news for the club & the game in general, but it does bring with it challenges. In particular during the season we are always on the look out for assistance, this year we have introduced a new junior committee which we hope will spread the workload. If you think you can help in any way please contact us.

At the start of the season we need team managers and of course coaches to teach kids the basics of the game. If you have or know of any body with soccer skills or are keen to learn we would love to hear from you!

Sponsorship is another way in which you could help so if you would like to either sponsor a team or the club please get in touch.
